A client of ours connected their business number to the official WhatsApp Business Platform, and within a day Meta had disabled their WhatsApp Business account under its Commerce Policy. Sending volume had nothing to do with it. The problem was what they sold: paid gaming services and social media followers. A new number added to the same account was blocked as well.
No setting could have prevented that. Not a warm-up plan, not a delay between messages, not a clever template. We start with this story because most advice about WhatsApp automation without getting banned is about sending speed, and in our experience speed is rarely the real cause. Numbers get banned for what the business sells, the history the number carries, the tools connected to it, and how the people receiving the messages react.
Meta's Commerce Policy decides what a business is allowed to sell on WhatsApp at all. Weapons, drugs, tobacco, alcohol and adult products are restricted, and as that client found out, enforcement can also reach businesses selling things like paid gaming or social media followers. If your business sits in one of these areas, the best automation in the world will not keep the account alive. Meta is not judging your messages. It is judging the business.
Two lessons from that case:
This is why a business check is the first thing we do before connecting any number. We look at what you sell against Meta's policies before touching a single setting, because it is far better to hear "this may be a problem" from us than from Meta after the account is gone.
Another client's number was restricted after sending only a handful of messages. The owner's first question was fair: how can a handful of messages be spam?
The answer had two parts. The number had a history before it reached us, and once again, what was being sold mattered. Volume was not the issue at all.
WhatsApp does not treat a number as new just because it is new to you. A number can carry its past with it: earlier reports, use with unofficial tools, a previous user who spammed from it. When you connect that number and start sending, you inherit whatever reputation it already has.
What helps:
This one is familiar to almost every shop owner. Someone buys a bulk sender, uploads a few thousand numbers from an old Excel sheet and sends the Eid offer. By evening the phone says the number is no longer allowed to use WhatsApp, and years of customer and supplier chats are stuck behind a review form.
Desktop bulk senders and browser extensions that drive WhatsApp Web are not approved by WhatsApp. They push hundreds of messages through an ordinary app account, which is the exact pattern WhatsApp's systems are built to catch. Many of them sell "anti-ban" features: random delays, rotating numbers, fake typing. None of that makes an unofficial method allowed. It only changes how long it takes to get caught.
Modified apps like GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus and FM WhatsApp are in the same category. People install them for small things, like hiding blue ticks or adding an auto-reply, and forget they are breaking WhatsApp's terms on the number their whole business depends on.
WhatsApp does not need to read your messages to know something is wrong. When many people block your number or tap Report on the same day, that is one of the strongest signals it gets. A few blocks are normal for any business. A broadcast that makes a big share of your list block you is how numbers go down fast.
The patterns behind high block rates are boringly consistent:
On the official platform, this reaction is measured as your number's quality rating (high, medium or low). It feeds into your messaging limit, which is how many unique customers you can start conversations with in a rolling 24 hours. New numbers start with a lower limit, and Meta raises it when quality stays good. If quality drops, Meta can lower the limit or pause a template. That is annoying, but it is a warning. A bulk tool gives you no warning at all.
The approved route is the WhatsApp Business Platform, usually through the Cloud API: an official connection that lets software send and receive messages for your business number. With Coexistence, you keep the WhatsApp Business App you use every day: the same number stays on the app on your phone and is also connected to the API, so you can still reply personally while AI handles the rest.
Nobody can promise that a number will never be restricted, and you should be wary of anyone who does. WhatsApp makes that decision. What the official setup gives you is a way of working that matches what Meta expects, with warnings before things get serious.
Most of the damage happens early, when an owner finally has automation and wants to use all of it at once. This is the order we follow when we set it up for clients:
Our dashboard also runs a link guard that flags risky links before a broadcast goes out, and it records opt-outs automatically. The easiest mistakes to prevent are the ones a busy team makes at 6 pm on a Friday.
First, work out what kind of block it is. A temporary ban usually shows a countdown in the app. Use that time to remove every unofficial tool, because repeating the same behaviour is how a temporary ban becomes permanent. A permanent ban says the number is not allowed to use WhatsApp. And if it is the business account on the platform that was disabled, as in our first story, the problem is the account, not the SIM.
WhatsApp decides every review, and there is no guaranteed way back. That is the whole reason prevention matters more than recovery.
If you are running a bulk tool today, or you are about to connect a number and are not sure Meta will be comfortable with what you sell, send us the details. We will tell you plainly what we see, including when the answer is "this business may not be allowed on WhatsApp". Our WhatsApp automation plans run only on the official platform and start from PKR 12,000/month, but the check comes first. Contact AMEVIX DIGITAL or message us on WhatsApp at 0339 4285556.

Yes. Bulk sender software and browser extensions that control WhatsApp Web are not approved by WhatsApp, and sending through them is a common reason for temporary and permanent bans. "Anti-ban" features like random delays do not make them allowed.
No, and nobody can honestly promise that. WhatsApp can restrict any number that breaks its policies or gets many blocks and reports. The official API follows WhatsApp's rules and shows your quality rating, so you get warnings and time to fix problems.
Often the reason is what the business sells, not how it sends. Meta's Commerce Policy restricts certain products and services, and an account can be disabled within a day of connecting. Adding a new number to the same disabled account usually does not help.
Volume is rarely the only factor. A number can carry its past, such as earlier reports or use with unofficial tools, and what you sell matters too. Using a number with a clean, genuine history of customer chats lowers this risk.
No. GB WhatsApp, WhatsApp Plus and other modded apps break WhatsApp's terms of service and can get your number temporarily or permanently banned. Use the official WhatsApp Business App, and the Business Platform when you need automation.
Use the review option shown in the app and send one clear, honest request explaining your business and what you have changed. WhatsApp decides every review, so there is no guaranteed way back. Avoid paid unban services, as they cannot control the outcome.
Yes. WhatsApp expects opt-in before you message people, for example from a website form, a checkout checkbox, an ad or the customer messaging you first. Give an easy way to stop too, such as replying STOP.
The limit applies to conversations your business starts with templates, not to replies when a customer messages you first. Each number can start conversations with a limited number of unique customers in a rolling 24 hours, and Meta raises that limit as quality stays good.
Yes, with Coexistence. The same number stays on the WhatsApp Business App and is also connected to the Cloud API, so you can reply from your phone while automation and AI run in the background. AMEVIX DIGITAL sets this up on the official platform.
There are two parts: the provider's monthly plan and Meta's per-message charges for templates, which Meta sets and changes by category and country. AMEVIX DIGITAL WhatsApp Coexistence plans start from PKR 12,000/month, plus Meta's template charges.
